Samsung released the Galaxy Note 7 in August 2016. The Note 7 served as a follow up to the Galaxy Note 5 and ended up only being available for about a months time. Due to issues with the battery, the Galaxy Note 7 sales were stopped in September 2016, and the recalls began soon after. Samsung officially ended production for the Galaxy Note 7 in October 2016, though, a refurbished model, dubbed the Galaxy Note 7 FE (Fan Edition) was later released in July 2017.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was originally released in August 2015, four months after the Samsung’s Galaxy S6 lineup. Although the design is similar to the S6 line (with a metal frame and all-glass back), the Galaxy Note 5 features several hardware upgrades like a large 5.7-inch screen and S Pen digital stylus to write on the display. Although there’s no expandable storage, the Note 5 comes in 32/64/128GB internal storage configurations. Other specs include a Quad HD display, Exynos 7420 chipset, 4GB RAM, 16MP rear and 5MP selfie cameras, wireless charging, headphone jack, Samsung Pay (NFC + MST), micro USB port, fingerprint sensor, and a 3,000mAh battery.
