Let’s face it, accidents happen. No matter how careful we try to be, we’ve all dropped our phones at some point. Cracked screens are the single most common type of cell phone damage, with more than 50 million broken screens per year. Even though modern phones are made with shatter-resistant tempered glass such as Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, cracks still happen — maybe not on the first drop, but it’s practically inevitable after repeated encounters with the pavement.
Breaking your phone isn’t fun, but at times, it can be used as an excuse to upgrade. Tap the green button below if you’re leaning towards this being your excuse.
The Swappa Repair Network helps you fix your broken phone quickly and easily — and save money in the process. Although a cracked screen may initially seem like game over for your Android or iPhone; it’s not. Read on, as we figure out how much it costs to fix a phone screen.

Cracked phone screens can almost always be repaired, but it’s not always worth the cost. Repair only makes sense if it’s cheaper to fix your existing phone than it is to get a replacement phone. So how much does it cost to replace a phone screen?
The cost to fix a cracked Apple iPhone screen varies widely based on which iPhone you have and where you take it to get repaired. As a result, iPhone screen repair may cost as much as $379. Samsung Galaxy phone screen repair cost is lower and may cost as much as $289 depending on the model.

What is the Apple Self-Service Repair Kit for iPhone?
Apple recently launched the iPhone Self-Service Repair program to provide genuine Apple parts, tools, and service manuals to individual consumers. Each Apple iPhone repair kit includes genuine Apple replacement parts, along with the required tools and relevant documentation to help you fix your iPhone. Unfortunately, the Apple Self-Service Repair program is currently only available for the iPhone 12 lineup, the iPhone 13 lineup, and the iPhone SE (2022) — which means that this won’t help most iPhone owners. In addition, Apple’s iPhone repair kits require in-depth electronics knowledge and repair experience, so you’re still better off taking your broken iPhone to a professional in order to prevent further damage.
Our suggestion would be to get a phone repair cost estimate using the Swappa Repair Calculator. Local shops can often perform the same repairs for less and take less time doing so. Just remember that if the repair costs more than getting a replacement device, you’re better off ditching your old phone and picking up a used iPhone on Swappa.

How do you fix a cracked screen?
Contrary to popular belief, a cracked screen isn’t the end for your smartphone. Broken phones can be repaired — and it can be cheaper to fix your cracked screen than to get a new one. So how exactly do you fix your broken screen? At first, you may be tempted to try the repair yourself. But before you ask, no. Despite what you may see on TikTok, Ramen noodles and toothpaste cannot be used to fix a cracked phone screen.
Since modern cell phones are built to be as thin and light as possible, they are made with hundreds of small and delicate pieces that are often glued together, rather than screwed in place. As a result, it can be difficult to perform the work yourself — especially if you’ve never worked with small electronics before or don’t have the necessary tools. Moreover, if you don’t know what you’re doing, you risk increasing the damage and possibly losing the data stored on your device. Because of this, your best bet is to get your phone fixed by a reputable repair shop that can fix it right, the first time. Keep reading to learn how much iPhone repair costs.

How long does it take to repair a phone screen?
The next thing to consider is downtime. Most of us practically live on our phones. As a result, we don’t like when they’re taken away from us. Unfortunately, it’s often quite difficult to get repairs done in a timely manner if you don’t know where to look. For example, with fewer than 300 Apple Stores spread across the country, getting a same-day consultation appointment at the Genius Bar can be tough. And when you add in the actual time it takes for the repair itself, you’re often looking at well over a week without your phone — simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, the story is largely the same with first-party Samsung repair.
Your phone may be down, but it’s not out! The Swappa Repair Network is here to help get it up and running as soon as possible. With over 2300 repair shops across 270 metropolitan areas spread all across the country, the repair is always nearby.
