The month of August has begun, and that means we can now look back and see which phones sold the most during the month of July 2020. As we’ve always done, the July 2020 version of our “Top Selling Used Phones” post will be highlighting the ten top-selling phones for the month. Of course, we’ll also be looking back a little further to see how the July list compared to the June 2020 list.
As we often see, there is a common theme with the list being dominated by the Apple iPhone. The iPhone is holding eight spots, with two Android phones making the list. The Samsung Galaxy S9 is fourth on the list for the month of July 2020, which coincidentally, is where it sat on the list in June. The other Android smartphone to make the list for July is a newcomer — the Google Pixel 3, which replaced the Samsung Galaxy S10 in the tenth spot on the list.
The top three positions remained the same with the iPhone 8, iPhone 7, and iPhone Xr. The iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X swapped positions with the iPhone 8 Plus going to sixth and the iPhone X moving into fifth. In addition, the iPhone 6S, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone 11 all carried over retaining the same positions, which were seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
Top selling used phones from July 2020
The previous months of May and June each saw a bit of an increase in average selling price, looking month over month. But going from June to July we saw a more expected pattern, with some of the phones average selling price decreasing a few dollars. The iPhone 8 average selling price went from $272 in June to $266 in July, and the iPhone Xr average selling price went from $474 in June to $464 in July.
