Swappa is a human-powered marketplace for buying and selling used technology products, including smartphones, laptops, video games, smart home tech, and cameras. With hundreds of thousands of happy buyers and sellers using Swappa each and every month we’re shooting for $100M worth of commerce in 2018.
We’re looking for a dynamic, driven designer with mobile and ecommerce experience. As the sole designer at Swappa, you’ll bring your years of user-centered design and enthusiasm to our lean, remote team.
Simplicity, value, transparency and trust are at the core of our brand. Your work will make buying and selling used tech easier and more enjoyable for our users.
Responsibilities:
- Embrace and evolve Swappa’s brand, how it’s visualized and communicated
- Help us optimize our site and mobile app for commerce
- Create engaging and well-performing graphics for marketing, including social media and emails
- Identify, research, and solve challenging user problems with a team committed to make buying and selling technology easier.
- Swap hats as you take on a variety of projects in size, scope, and practice.
- Plan work based on iterative improvement. Small, measurable impact is a core part of Swappa’s design and development process.
- Advocate for Swappa’s mission and for the people it serves. Conversations about customers and their goals must be a part of your design process.
- Collaborate and critique through an understanding of our users and business goals.
- Experience editing videos is a plus

Expectations:

- You have strong cross-platform knowledge ranging from desktop to mobile, ecommerce to responsive design
- Ability to discuss the technical aspects of design, including some knowledge of HTML/CSS, semantics, accessibility, page weight, load time, etc

- You are results and numbers driven when it comes to evaluating successes and failures

- You accept and resolve critique with grace and ease
