A work that began back in 2010, today nearly 98% of the country is covered with Verizon’s 4G LTE network. With Verizon’s 4G LTE now fully deployed, Verizon is already taking steps to launch their next generation wireless network: 5G Ultra Wideband.
It’s no surprise that Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network is faster and more powerful than their current 4G LTE network. Verizon 5G operates at a much higher frequency than current 4G LTE which means it’s capable of delivering blistering fast data speeds with lower latency, while also being able to handle more traffic during heavily congested hours or large events.
Early tests have shown the 5G gigabit network is already capable of delivering 1.13 Gbps data speeds, with peak speeds promised to hit 10Gbps once it fully matures. With our sights set on the next evolution of Verizon’s network, when can we get our first taste of Verizon 5G?
When will Verizon 5G be available?
Depending on where you live, you won’t have to wait too long before you can try out Verizon 5G for yourself. The good news is that Verizon’s 5G network has already begun rolling out to a few major cities across the US. The only downside is barely a handful of phones currently support Verizon 5G, although that number is expected to grow as the Verizon 5G rollout schedule continues to expand in the coming months.
