On January 31 we launched a major redesign of the Swappa website: http://swappa.com
The primary goal of the redesign is actually to improve the mobile browsing experience. The old version of the site had completely separate experiences for standard vs. mobile browsing. Besides being an inconsistent experience for the user, which we didn’t like, it was also a pain to keep two different versions up to date. Consequently the mobile site had come a bit antiquated.
The redesigned site uses something called “responsive” web design to provide a more consistent experience for different devices, from phone to tablet to desktop. This is important, as a growing percent of our users are accessing our site from a mobile device.
