I am highly unsatisfied. The scratches are really bad.
Not what was shown on site.

I have tried to work with the seller after sale and that the listing was incorrect. Listing shows the phone as working with Mint mobile which it absolutely does not. AT&T says this phone should be blacklisted. Seller has been mainly unresponsive. I just want a refund and can send the phone back.

The phone will not activate through sprint

- 1 / 5 stars

Phone would not activate upon arrival. Returned the device, got a partial refund because the seller claimed device was functional upon return. I provided video evidence showing the defect, which I tested before shipping. Seller continued to claim device was functional, bringing up the time it took me to return the device, which was still well within the return period stated in this listing, with no clear intent stated behind bringing that up. In order to defend myself, I had to provide context regarding my financial situation, which I consider very personal, and should help explain why I'm even fighting over this instead of giving a negative rating. However, this experience has led to me providing a much more negative rating than I imagined. I do not rate sellers negatively - even if the device isn't exactly as described, if something goes wrong, or if the seller is belligerent. In this case, I received an experience that will be pushing me off the platform entirely.

This seller says they do their best to provide great customer support, but yet after multiple attempts reaching out to them via Swappa about an issue with the device they sold me and getting no response, Swappa support recommended for me to request a refund through PayPal because this seller will not respond to them either. It seems they root their devices, so if you purchase a phone with software specific to a certain carrier it is not because they flash different software on it and change the look and fuctionality of it. If you want a clean, out of the box software experience that hasn't been adjusted in any way, I wouldn't buy a phone from this seller. Also, if you want a seller that will help you with a return or exchange when their is an issue with your purchase I wouldn't risk buying from this seller. I try not to give negative reviews ever, but this seller's lack of response or solution has caused me to have to. They will not even answer Swappa back and it will be a month soon.

I wanted a Tmobile phone got an unlocked phone which now prevents me from using all features of the phone. Will not be a returning customer.

I guess I should have read the reviews for 2020. The item I received wasn't working properly had to return it. The lock screen and volume buttons weren't functional as well as the face I.D. They didn't seem to care that it was on their behalf and were rude.

Crappy customer service, NOT RESPONSIVE, SENT EMPTY ENVELOPE

Received the item. As it's listed under good I can forgive the pea sized mark in the screen. Thankfully OLED doesn't really show it when it's on. However the seller listed the device as good in the description the claimed the device was "near mint, very micro wears, loud vibrate, refurbished" with no mention of the screen nic. Coupled with brilliant angles on the photos made it nearly impossible to tell. But once I received the device and compared it to photos I could see the mark in the photos. So while not technically lying, they made sure it was difficult to see the screen damage. Not bad, but I probably won't purchase from the seller again. However I could've asked for more angles. So I am to blame partly as well.

In their article they said the phone was a Straight Talk phone and when it came in it was a track phone I put my Straight Talk SIM card in the phone and it will not work and that phone and they refused to give me my money back and thus I pay at $18 restocking fee

I was sold an iphone that was reported "lost" after it was sold to me. The phone was bricked, but I didn't know that and inserted my sim card. The "lost" phone promptly bricked my sim card, which meant that I couldn't send or receive calls for 12+ hours. I had to spend an hour at the AT&T store getting my sim restored to normal and then repackage and re-send the device back to this company for a full refund. They processed the return fully and were professional about it. However, the whole ordeal was a huge waste of my time and effort -- all I wanted was a working device and now I still don't have that after two weeks. Can't recommend, even though others have had better luck with these guys.

Was listed as 128gb, it was not. Seller blamed Swappa site for the mistake. I have sold on Swappa before and that was human error plain and simple. LCD burn was slightly worse than picture showed. Other than that, it works fine. Buy with caution from this seller.

Not happy that damage description for phone is not listed under condition at top of page.

Phone was in great condition, but could not use it as it was locked with apple remote management. Seller approved return, declined to send pre-paid return label. I had to pre pay $6.72 to return phone. Seller did not reimburse $1.97 for the shipping insurance as per swappa policy required for buyer protection. Had phone been damaged, I would have had to deal with USPS insurance claim was my concern. Thankfully there was no problem with the return shipping. Seller refunded phone price Friday, a day after it was delivered, both business days. Disappointed the phone was apple remote locked, as I choose this seller from the feedback showing so many sales, I thought I would not have such a experience.

This phone was faulty, I was in a situation where I was unable the phone and the seller showed no interest in resolving this issue. I had to go to a 3rd party phone Technitian and it turns out there are still greater issue with the phone. Overall this was a horrible purchase that I absolutely regret. I definitely would not recommend this seller to a friend or anyone for that matter. I will be sure to keep clear.

Purchased unlocked phone when my phone bricked. The new phone would not connect to Verizon network. The seller was out of town so we were having an issue connecting to get it resolved. In the mean time no phone. Main frustration was:

1) Unlocked phone that did not work with Verizon.
2) Unable to get it resolved in a timely manor.

Seller was gracious enough to accept the phone back for a full refund.

IMEI of the phone got blacklisted 5 months after sale, be careful and don't assume if IMEI is clean, it's going to remain clean

The physical condition was as described, but was sent a 16GB version instead of 32GB. Seller did not respond to my message about it.

The seller could have mentioned more about scratches in the sale description. have more scratches than expected.

After less than a week, the phone started to exhibit signs of a defective display. When reaching out to Nate, he was not incredibly responsive, and said "you'll have to send it back for me to check & verify before I can do anything." When I told him I needed a pre-paid label, I heard nothing back. Ended up dropping the phone and cracking the back glass (so it wasn't returnable, of course), so I ended up selling it at a loss. Not saying anything negative about Nate, but I'm just very unhappy with how this whole transaction went, and I don't think I'll be buying from Lightning Controls again. While he did what he had to do (sell me a phone, ship it to me, etc.), I just wasn't super impressed with any of the transaction.

The phone was locked when it arrived. I needed the original owner's email to reset it. I had planned to take this phone while traveling internationally. Because of the situation, I couldn't.

Phone was inoperable but luckily Google replaced it for me. Basically I wasted a lot of time with this transaction.

Not unlocked. what disappointment.

Shipping was slow--charger was listed as 2-day & took 9 days. Seller communication was non existent. Product was as described.

- 1 / 5 stars

Dishonest seller, didn't test machine, description inaccurate screen and keyboard damage along with very poor overall condition. Don't be fooled by his blurry photos. Poor communication. Refused to fully refund return shipping costs.

- 1 / 5 stars

Poor refurbished quality, back glass not aligned and lifting also frame has more scratches then they said on the listing.

- 1 / 5 stars

Phone had undergone a glass screen replacement (not disclosed). There were several signs: Stray adhesive under the glass obstructing the front camera, scratching of digitizer layer, heat warping of the display and even intermittent graphics glitching. Provided pictures of all this...seller was slow to reply and surprisingly combative. Swappa reps were needed to prompt a resolution. After the phone was delivered back it took a threat of contacting authorities to get the refund issued. Would not trust again.

My issue was with usps shipping. Purchased on the 16th, processed on the 17th, shipped the 18th, arrives in SF on the 21st, where it was held in limbo until the 25th of November. I am satisfied with the product but I was not satisfied with having to pay $29.00 for expedited shipping and it taking 9 days.

The phone I bought was advertised as a T-Mobile phone but it was actually for a different carrier. I tried to activate my phone at a T-Mobile store and spent many hours with the employees trying to figure it out. I ended up shipping back the phone for a full refund. The whole situation was cumbersome. The seller was responsive but not very quick so there was a lot of waiting.

Sold me a blacklisted phone and wasn't very responsive. They cover $8 shipping so keep that in mind.

charging port is defective. if the seller simply plugged the phone in, they would have known that it was defective and I could have avoided the hassle. I don't have time to ship it back for a repair/return because I am flying out of the country. I went ahead and paid out of pocket for a cellphone shop to fix the charging port for me. Lesson learned.

Very disappointed in not only the item purchased but the seller!
The phone was advertised as “functions flawlessly”, but the volume in the earpiece was faint and hard to hear. This was confirmed by ATT store.
The seller also advertised “45 day hassle-free warranty” which they did not honor. Now I am stuck with a very poor phone and no recourse.
I WOULD NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!

Sold a defective item and when we returned it he claimed it should have worked and charged shipping costs.

Received phone and disappointed in the condition. The phone's seams, speaker, and charging port are full of dirt and nasty grime. Plus the camera lens has scratches on it. I was expecting a lot better condition for being listed as "Good" instead of "Fair" condition. Request return.

This phone works great In all aspects except for the microphone and the battery drains very fast the microphone doesn’t seem to work and I people can’t hear me when I make calls

This person was challenging to work with. They did mail the phone promptly. However, although listed as Sprint phone, Sprint explained to me this phone was not compatible with their network. This sellar did not initially respond to my sharing this information and needed prompting from Swappa staff to do so. Ultimately, the sellar did refund my payment, after I sent quotes from Sprint chat reiterating that the phone would not be possible to activate, and a week after I returned the phone to the seller.

After a few weeks the phone was blacklisted and needed to be returned. I had to contact Swappa directly to get it resolved in a timely way. Ultimately I got my refund for the phone and only a partial refund for shipping even though I followed Swappa's policies. Buyer was completely unsympathetic. I understand that the situation sucks for them too but it is their responsibility. It ended up costing me time and money to buy a faulty phone

I purchased an iPhone 6S from Lightning Controls. The phone looked fine on the exterior, however, the device had a backlight issue (shadows around the edge of the screen). Clearly defective.

I inquired with the seller about the phone and did not receive a response until Swappa Support advised me to file a PayPal dispute. The seller insisted I damaged the phone and refused to give me a refund. At one point the seller told me to send them the phone (after I asked for a refund), but then posted a separate offer on PayPal for a replacement. PayPal ultimately awarded me a refund.

Update: After the PayPal dispute was decided in my favour, I received a message from PayPal indicating that my account was limited because the seller never received the device for return. My post office tracking number indicates that the device was in fact delivered. Tracking also indicates that the seller signed for the device.

I bought a Google Pixel XL from this seller that was supposed to be in good condition, the seller was very slow to respond, when it finally came in with in a week we discovered that it was one of the few devices from the Batch of Google Pixels that had the Mic defect. Upon discovery I immediately took the necessary steps to return the phone and get my money back since I was given a defected device. Again, the seller was slow to respond. I was told that the money would be returned to me once the device was delivered to this seller. It was confirmed that the device was delivered to the seller on Friday January 25th however it is now Friday February 2nd and the seller has yet to respond let alone refund my money. Swappa has tried to get in contact with him to no luck as well. I also have escalated the issue to PayPal who has reached out to this seller also and they have yet to hear from the seller. The seller has had the device back for a week now and has yet to respond to me, Swappa, and

The phone was ripped out of the package somewhere in Minnesota and an empty package arrived at my house.

I was required to submit a PayPal dispute and eventually a dispute with my credit card.

The seller had very poor communication throughout the entire process.

If Swappa boils down to experiences like this, I will soon become a former user.

This was my second purchase.
