Connect AirPods to MacBook using the following steps:

1. Make sure both AirPods are in the closed charging case
2. Place your AirPods next to your MacBook and open the charging case
3. Press and hold the setup button on your AirPods charging case until the status light flashes white
4. Navigate to System Preferences (System Settings) -> Bluetooth on your MacBook
5. Select the AirPods and click Connect
