Are AirPods waterproof?

Apple AirPods are not waterproof, however, some Apple AirPods are water-resistant.

• First and second-generation AirPods are not waterproof or water-resistant.
• Third-generation Apple AirPods and first and second-generation Apple AirPods Pro are water-resistant with an IPX4 rating.

The IPX4 rating means AirPods can handle splashes of water, some light rain, or sweat. If your AirPods get wet, they should be dried with a soft cloth before being placed back in the charging case.
