Welcome to the Power Seller program
As a new Power Seller – we’re sure you have questions – so how about we start simply – by defining Power Seller.
What is a Swappa Power Seller?
A Power Seller is a business that sells devices at a high volume on Swappa. But selling in high volume is not the only requirement to become a power seller.
- The business must have a high number of problem-free sales on Swappa before they can apply to become a Power Seller.
- The business must also maintain a high number of problem-free sales once it becomes a Power Seller.

Power Seller Tools & Benefits
Perhaps the first change you’ll notice as a new Power Seller is the Power Seller badge on your listings. Or, if you’ve yet to notice…the badge is located with your business information on each listing, which helps it stand out from other listings.
The Power Seller tools and benefits are designed to save you time and effort in creating listings, editing listings, shipping, and outlining policies. You’ll find some basic tools, including Shipstation integration in the “Advanced Tools” section of your Swappa account, with some additional perks that are outlined below:
- Shipstation: The Shipstation integration helps streamline the shipping process and allows sellers to manage and create shipping labels for orders.
- Incoming Inventory: Power Sellers can use their Profile Code in place of the Listing Code in verification images.
- Extending Listings: Power Sellers can extend listings an indefinite number of times (as opposed to the standard 60-day expiration cap for standard seller accounts).
- Listing Addendum: Power Sellers can set addendums for topics including shipping policies and return/refund policies in the business profile settings. These policies then show on all the Power Sellers listings.
Aside from these perks, Power Sellers also have access to Incoming Inventory and/or WholeCell.
Swappa Incoming Inventory
Incoming Inventory provides Swappa Power Sellers with a flexible staging environment for creating listings. Essentially, this means sellers are able to create listings in batches and then return later to add additional details and images.
This is a perfect setup for teams that sell in high volume, or for teams that have different people handle different aspects of the listing process. For example, one team member can get the process started by uploading IMEIs and then other team members add descriptions, images, or other information at a later time.
Batches of inventory items can be created using the Import ESN or Import Sheet features, both of which are available for Swappa Power Sellers. The Import ESN and Import Sheet options allow Power Sellers to upload anywhere from a couple of listings to a couple hundred listings at a time. Of course, inventory items can also be created one at a time using the Add Item option, which is similar to Swappa’s traditional method for creating listings.
Add Item
Allows Power Sellers to create a single inventory item. The fields available for the “Add Item” listing option include:
- Seller ref: Generates a random reference number for inventory control (for internal use)
- Seller sku: Seller-defined SKU (for internal use)
- Serial Number: ESN/IMEI of the device
- Product: Searchable text field
- Product Variant: Model, Carrier, Color, Storage (device specifics)
- Condition: Fair, Good, Mint, New
- Cost: Can be used to track sellers cost of goods (for internal use)
- Price: Seller’s asking price for the device
- Headline: Listing headline
- Description: Listing description
- Damage Description: Used to describe any wear on the device (required for Fair or Good condition devices)
- Seller notes: Open text box for any notes (for internal use)
Import ESNs
Allows Power Sellers to create one or more inventory items by uploading ESN numbers.
- Power Sellers enter the ESN numbers in a text box, and the ESN numbers can be separated by a comma, or separated by line.
- After your list of ESN numbers has been added you click the “Submit” button.
- After your list of ESN numbers has been submitted you can select a product for each ESN.
Note: Swappa attempts to match each ESN number to a product when the “Select Product” dropdown menu is opened. And, selecting a product is not required to submit these ESN numbers to your incoming inventory.
Import Sheet
Allows Power Sellers to create one or more inventory items using a spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet can be ‘.xlsx’ or ‘.csv”, and the Import Sheet option supports the following spreadsheet headers:
- product, modeln, edition, carrier, platform, color, storage, memory, processor, seller_ref, seller_sku, serial_number, price, cost, condition, notes, description, damage_description, headline, quantity_available
The photos and any other missing information can be added or edited after your spreadsheet has been uploaded.
The Power Seller tools also include bulk photo imports, batch editing, and listing previews.
Bulk Photo Imports
Swappa Power Sellers can upload images in bulk, or to individual inventory items. The bulk image uploads are done using the Import Photos feature, and the image uploads for individual inventory items are done using the Add Photos feature.
Power Sellers are permitted to use their Swappa profile code in place of the Swappa listing code on verification images, and the additional requirements for uploading images are as follows:
- JPG and PNG image files are supported
- 5 MB file size max per image
- 50 MB total batch size per upload
Note: Unused uploaded images will be removed after 30 days. Also, any uploaded images that do not meet the above criteria requirements will be discarded.
Batch Editing
From the “Incoming” option, you can select all of the listings you need to edit (or delete). Select the items you want to adjust and tap the “Edit” or “Delete” button.
- Selecting the edit option allows for bulk changes to the Product, Model, Carrier, Color, Storage, Memory, Condition, and Cost.
- Selecting the delete option will delete the selected items.
Note: Empty fields left unchanged will not change when using the batch edit feature.
Preview and Finalize Listings
Previewing and finalizing your listings are the final steps. Power Sellers can preview listings in two ways:
- Tap the “Preview Listing” button on the Incoming Inventory homepage.
- Tap the “Preview” button on the Create listing page.
At a minimum, listings need the ESN, Product w/variant details, Pricing, and Photos before they can be finalized. Provided these details are already part of the listing, you can select the listing(s) you want to activate by tapping the check box on the left side of the Incoming Inventory homepage and then tapping the green “Ready to List” button. This brings you to the “Create Listing” page so you can enter the final details, which include:
- Ship from ZIP Code (required)
- Ship from Location (required)
- Allow Express Shipping (optional)
- Express Shipping Price (optional)
After these basic details have been entered you simply tap the green “Create Listings” button.
WholeCell Integration
WholeCell is an inventory management system that allows sellers to organize, manage, and track their inventory. Using the WholeCell integration is not required for Power Sellers, but instead, it is an additional tool available for sellers who are looking for a comprehensive inventory management system. Or perhaps more importantly, an additional tool for sellers who are looking for a comprehensive inventory management system that directly integrates into the Swappa Incoming Inventory workflow.
