I wore this watch for about a year. I take excellent care of my watches and don't notice any wear and tear, but I don't feel Mint is appropriate condition.

Hey robert, going to run my longest ultra puglia 140km, is it possible to make it for 450?

It looks like the Puglia cutoff is 26 hours. Garmin Fenix and Enduro watches (since the fenix 6) have had incredible battery life, over 40 hours even with wrist based heart rate enabled. You should be able to wear this watch for quite a while, complete the race, and continue wearing it after without needing to charge for awhile. Unfortunately with the fees and such, I want to try to keep the sale near where it is today. Shipping usually eats about $60+ as well and that is a factor for me. I'm excited about your race, have a great time!!

Thanks, buddy. If I’m able to do more, I’ll ask you here. Most of the time, map rendering uses a lot of CPU — I experienced my Fenix 6 Pro dying in the 16th hour of my first ultra

Ah that stinks! I ran a fenix 6X Pro back in 2019 for a 36.5 hour activity (software 4.10). Always picked up the biggest case size with the largest batteries too (51mm). Were you leaving maps up all the time by chance? Thats the only thing I can think of that would tank battery so quickly.

I was rending map on trail run activity watch face. there were a ton of different turns on that race , and running at night made it twice as hard to catch them. Still, I got lost four times. 😃😃

So thank you for your kind wishes, Robert.

Hi Robert, after a year of use, how has the battery life held up? Also, in your experience, is using maps on the watch worthwhile?

Hey Carlos! As a fan of garmin fenix/enduro I often rotate between several models so the battery is lightly used and hasnt been through too many cycles. Looking at my sell list, I was running the fenix 8 amoled for awhile, but I'm just not into amoled and went back to a fenix 8 mip which I've settled on (which is why this listing.)

I love using maps on the watch, and I noticed a great improvement when using courses. The destination to next fork/waypoint changes depending which way I'm facing the trail- like if I turn around, it updates nearly instantly. It's pretty slick. I use the maps feature quite a bit especially on longer races, but even shorter ones its nice to mentally prepare at speed for the next turn(s). Maps is the reason I went from fenix 5 to 5x back in the day, and are a must have option for me.
