Damage Description

I see a scratch and damage on the back where the camera sticks out. However, it doesn't hamper any pictures. Everything else looks really good due to being in a protective case.

Apple iPhone 12 - Purple - 64 - w/ Otterbox case

This was owned by my mother, who is elderly and doesn't really use cell phones. So mostly, this has been in a purse :).

It has always been in a case and has a glass film protection on the face. I looked it over and do see some damage where the back camera is. I almost listed as mint until I held in the light just right.

This will come with the Otterbox case in the pics

Hey Michael,

Do you by chance have the box for this phone?

Also, could you go to Settings, General, About, SIM Restrictions. If it shows that it is carrier locked, could you please unlock it for free here on ATTs website: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/unlockstep1

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tony. Currently at work but will respond as soon as I get home tonight. For the first question though I am mostly sure I have a box. I know I have an iPhone box that I hoarded for some reason, just unsure if it was this phone or not :)

- May 28, 2025 - 07:41 AM

Haha. Sounds good. Even if it isn't for this phone, I like the boxes, so if you have no use for it, you could always send it with this phone if you were just planning to toss it, but let me know if it is for this phone (:

Do you by chance have the charging brick as well?

Any old accessories that you don't plan on using anymore, I will gladly take as this will be a gift for someone that is using an iPhone 7, so it will be a big upgrade for them (:

Has anything ever been repaired or replaced?

Hey Tony, have updates for you.

Good news... I do have the box and it is for this phone. The one thing is that the sales rep wrote the Phone number on it. I will black that out for my mom. Guessing though that most people probably don't want to hear her say "WHAT!!" :)

Additionally, I do have the charging brick and FireWire. Will include those. I forgot those are sold separately and bigger deals for iPhones. Also, no repairs or anything replaced. Also, I can see it has a glass screen protector on it. It is in great shape, so will leave it on.

Lastly, for the carrier lock it reads "No SIM restrictions". I was thinking it was unlocked but wasn't sure how to tell. Thx for the tutorial.

- May 28, 2025 - 11:47 PM

Haha. No worries about the Blackout. I understand (:

When you say FireWire, are you referring to the Lightning Cable? Or is that a special brand? The lightning cable comes with the phone when you buy it, but newer iPhones require you to purchase the charging block separately.

Thank you for leaving the glass screen protector on (:

The last question I have would be if you are flexible on the price. I was about to purchase the phone, but then I saw that taxes and fees are added on when I open the sale page. Whats the best deal you can do?

I am going to hold firm with the price. I compared this to other listings. I believe I am one of the lower prices, if not lowest. So, think this is a good deal. Especially since this is unlocked and the accessories that will be sent.

For the cable, I thought they were called FireWire. I am not an Apple person (obviously) and use Android. In searching on the internet, it seems I am showing my age :)

- May 29, 2025 - 07:15 AM

So just to confirm, it is an original lightning cable, and the original apple brick s well?

And do you have the original headphones that came with it? I think 12 was the last year. Maybe I am wrong and 11 was the last one.

- May 29, 2025 - 07:53 AM

And one last question: when you said battery health 90%, is that referring to the 90% that you see on the Home Screen, or is that when you go into settings under battery health?

Michael S. Seller

I added a couple more photos showing the Brick and cable. Brick is original as I can see the Apple logo. I "think" that is the original cable as well but I am unsure how to know for sure. It isn't marked in anyway.

The battery health is what shows under settings added a pic for that as well.

Lastly, I don't have headphones so they are not included. I don't think those came with this model that I know of. But I wasn't too involved in the process vs. others.

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

- May 29, 2025 - 10:19 AM

Okay! I am just confirming with my friend before purchasing it, but it has been a real pleasure working with you, I just wanted to say that (:

- May 29, 2025 - 10:58 AM

Hey Swappa, was the buy lock created by me? I think I accidentally did it, but now it won't let me proceed.

Here at Swappa, buyers who use a freight forwarding/reshipper company in the US must ask the seller if they are comfortable with this arrangement before purchasing. For more information, please see the links below:

Hmm I am not requesting freight forwarding though.

A "buy lock" or a “listing is temporarily unavailable” error generally occurs when a purchase attempt is made for a listing to prevent it from being purchased more than once (or by more than one user). Please review our FAQ page here for further information on this: https://swappa.com/faq/buy/buy-lock

Please check back in a few minutes to see if this passes. Thanks!

- May 29, 2025 - 11:15 AM

Okay! So my friend has a last question.

The scratch or defect on the back camera. Is that only on the protective plastic/glass cover, or is it all the way down to the phone itself? (No need to remove it to check, just wanted to confirm)

Sorry for the plethora of questions XD

Just uploaded another picture. Wasn't sure what was asked and figure pic is worth a thousand words.

It is just the glass area around the camera lenses. Today there is better light at my window and I can see that what I thought was a scratch is actually a crack coming off from where the edge of that glass around the camera lenses was damaged. I don't think that glass is a protective cover. It isn't like the screen protectors. But it is only in this area and not accross the whole phone. Hope that makes sense.

Well that was a rollercoaster ride. Had its downs but then back to the up :) Tony please check the pic and let me know if you have any other questions.

Looked online, and that is a lens protector. Saw you can get replacements. Walmart is showing a 5pack for about 6$. My goal was to be as honest as possible. That just about flubbed things up :)

Let me know if your friend changes their mind.

- May 29, 2025 - 01:36 PM

The lens protector is still on the phone, correct?

- May 29, 2025 - 01:39 PM

I am curious as to if the damage is under the lens protector, but at the same time I am not wanting it taken off :/ Let me ask my friend real quick.

- May 29, 2025 - 01:48 PM

Okay. So my friend has an interesting request.

They want you to try to remove the broken protector, take a picture to show that the phone is unblemished, and then IF POSSIBLE, to put the protector back on. If it is not possible, we understand. But just for the extra protection during shipping

Michael S. Seller
- May 29, 2025 - 02:16 PM

Threw in a couple more photos. It is all on that protector. Not going to lie, if I knew then what I know now, I would have listed this as mint and raised the price. I truly thought Apple was stupid for that design. Glad to know it is something replaceable. The protector is back on but I don't know if the adhesive was affected. It sticks, I just don't know how good.

Figure this helps you all in your decision. If you wouldn't mind, if you all are not interested let me know. We have come to far and don't want to pull it from under you. But if you don't want it I am going to relist. I know it is a good deal now :P

- May 29, 2025 - 02:20 PM

No, I definitely want to buy it, I am just waiting for my friend to see the picture. So when you put it on, it was able to stick and not fall back off? Even when you rub it with your thumb?
