I believe AppleCare + can be added anytime within the 1 year warranty.

Thanks for the response. In your first link, it does confirm that AppleCare+ has to be purchased within the first 60 days..."Purchase AppleCare+ with your new Mac. Or buy it within 60 days of your Mac purchase." Bummer.

Correct. Apple Care for warranty related issues last 1 year from the original purchase date. However, AppleCare+ is a separate extended warranty for accidental damages, extended hardware support, etc that covers the device for 3 years, but can only be purchased within 60 days of the original purchased date. Assuming the device was purchased this past March 2nd, then the window to purchase AppleCare+ would have expired around early May. Thanks for checking and confirming. Unfortunately, looking to purchase the device for my nephew who definitely would need the AppleCare + coverage.
