Yes, there are two scratches on the screen, both are in the bottom corners. One looks more like a small smudge, about a cm in length and the other is a hairline scratch about 2 cm in length. Neither of which are on the actual LCD portion of the screen. Battery life is good, depending on use I would only have to charge it every couple of days, barring any prolonged use with videos or drawing using the pencil. It does take quite a long time to charge up to 100% though, due to the long battery life. I'd say around an hour and a half to 2 hours would get you a full charge. If you have it plugged in while using it, it will slowly charge but maintain its current battery life. And yes, I have the original box with all the documentation with it. I'm also including the A/C adaptor that comes with it. The cord is a little worse for wear, just from being used day to day with my iphone. But other than that, its in great condition.

what exactly is broken with the pencil? does it charge and work as it should?

Charges and works great. If you've ever used the pencil, it has a silver sort of band between the body of the pencil and the cap that you take off to charge. Theres a small crack in the body of the pencil where the band meets and so that band has the tendency to pull out. It doesn't do any damage and the band and charging port pop right back in. There electrical tape around the band just to make sure it doesn't pop out though.

Nope, works and charges perfectly. You could probably even just put some sort of adhesive in there and it would hold. I've just used a piece of electrical tape, been working well
