You can tell because Huawei DID NOT MAKE 128Gb GOLD version.
This used to be a 64GB device, but during repair they swapped in the 128GB mainboard, so now its one of the few 128GB Gold devices.

Hey there I am interested in getting this device, are you noticing the device slow down now that it is a few years old or does it still operate smooth and have snappy transitions?
I never owned a brand new device, so I can't comment on the comparison. I currently use several Nexus 6p for various time and they all run smoothly. If you are coming from the Apple world, I have not experienced the slowness common on Apple stuff. Even older devices run fine on latest Android. The Nexus 6p is only 2 years old.
Also, see my note on the repairs. This device MUST HAVE BEEN repaired under manufacturer warranty because Huawei never released 128gb version in Gold. During repair they must have put in a 128gb main board, so now it's one of the very few devices that are 128gb in gold.
I am not the original owner, so I don't know the exact history.
Lol not from Apple, I am an Android user solely. So this device since it has been in your care has been a good daily driver? Have you ever rooted, flashed custom roms or recoveries on it?
It's not rooted, flashed, or anything like it. I think it was used by somewhat "older" before me because it's in excellent shape. I have not used it as a daily driver.
