This listing is for a used 32GB black iPhone 4S for the Sprint network. I purchased this from the Apple Store brand new in October 2011 and used it for 3 years before upgrading to a newer iPhone. I was going to continue using this phone to test apps but found it unnecessary, so it has been sitting in its box unused for almost a year.

This phone still has iOS 6.1.3 on it. I never upgraded to the later versions of iOS because frankly I was resistant to how the newer iOS looked. Feel free to upgrade to the latest iOS if you like that better, just know it's a one-way street, you can't downgrade back once you've moved up (unless you jailbreak). This device will support the newest version of iOS 9.

I have used a case and screen protector since the day I bought the phone, so the condition of the phone is very good to excellent. This phone was actually not used very much, as the lifetime Call Time is less than 10 days and Cellular Data used is less than 6GB. However some repairs/replacements have been made (see details in the "Repair History" section) which is why I'm only listing it in "Good" condition. PLEASE read that section first if you're considering purchasing this phone.

The phone will come complete with its original box and all accessories, including never-used earbuds, the A/C plug, and the USB cord. I will be including the low-profile polyurethane phone case I bought from SwitchEasy when I first got the phone. I replaced the original screen protector with a new one, and you will be receiving that as well. It can be easily removed if you don't want a screen protector.

Damage description

This phone has been opened for replacement/repair. Just like any other phone, the original battery lost its ability to hold a charge. Also, the dock connector wasn't making a solid connection, and the sleep button at the top of the unit became non-responsive.

I ordered parts from iFixIt.com, did some surgery and successfully replaced the battery and internal dock connector. It has barely been turned on since then, so this battery is essentially unused and should last a few years.

Regarding the sleep button: Before the phone surgery, the button increasingly had to be pressed harder to respond, and eventually stopped working completely. This was addressed during surgery and it now works again, however the button has lost its "clicky" feel. This is also a delicate repair, meaning if you are careful I'm sure the sleep button will continue to function. However if you're rough with your phones, I cannot guarantee the repair job with the sleep button will last forever and may need additional repair or replacement down the road.
