Hey, I've been looking around at some VR headsets and noticed this model is cheaper everywhere I see it. Do you know why that is? Does this work with SteamVR?

Nick, I imagine it is cheaper becasue of a few things.

One, it's a developer headset. Although it's gotten much easier to setup and use, it can still be tricky to get up and running.

It does offer SteamVR support for many titles. It can even be paired with a Leap Motion, or other tracking controller, to play some Vive titles.

The other reason is because spec wise, it is more on par with an Oculus Rift DK2 as opposed to the newer Rift or Vive. It still works and looks great though! Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Willing to go $200?

I could drop to $210, which would be $200 after Swappa fees, which you probably know. Let me know and I will drop it.

I just dropped the price to $210 for anyone interested.

Thank you for the consideration.

I'm very interested. If this doesn't sell ahead of me by this Friday I'll purchase it at this price. Was considering picking up a used DK2 but this looks to be just as good, I think.

I've been watching this for awhile. I would do 150 if you wanna move it now.

Thanks for the offer! I wouldn't be able to ship until Monday, so let me think about it and I'll get back to you then.

So did you upgrade? I have two concerns, First that this one isn't comfortable, and second that I'll be kicking myself for not just getting the DK2 for it's higher resolution screen. Wondering if you got another one and if you can tell the difference?

I used the OSVR for a brief period of time. My Rift CV1 arrived much earlier than in was supposed to, so there is definitely a difference there. This headset should be compared to the DK2 though. I've not used a DK2, but my understanding is the screen resolution is exactly the same is this OSVR unit. I personally never had an issue with comfort, but I'm not really picky in that area.

From what I have read in the months since I listed this headset, the software has grown by leaps and bounds from what it was. It has tempted me to get it back out and try it, even with having a Rift CV1.
