you mentioned a warranty... what kind of warranty is it and does it transfer over to me if i decide to purchase

Apple's warranty starts automatically from the 1st day it is connected in the setup menu as it connects to wifi. No original purchase receipt required and no warranty transfer necessary. Whoever brings iPad to Apple store reserved appointment for a hardware issue fix before June 25, 2016 will walk away with a problem free iPad. Accidental user drop damage or water damage is not covered. If it gets unnaturally hot or battery doesn't test correctly etc..they simply replace to user during genius bar appointment. You also have mail in option if overseas etc.
