I have no idea if it is GSM unlocked from other carriers. The phone is paid off from T-Mobile and they informed me it was unlocked. That's the best I can say right now. I will chat with customer service when they open later today.

Just checked with T-Mobile and the website says:
Status: Unlocked
Your device is unlocked and can be used on all compatible networks.

Done. I did have to remove the charger cover to use the Mophie Juice pack. That's the reason for the recent price drop.
