Black 2012 Nexus 7 on Android 5.0.2. I have had tons of problems on 5.1 with this tablet so I flashed 5.0.2. I've used it for a few hours and every issue I had with 5.1 is gone.

how is the battery life?

it's pretty good. for the time I used it I got my day out of it and plugged it in when I went to bed. Ususally had about 30% left after being on battery with moderate usage from 8AM to Midnight.
