Galaxy S5 in Black, comes with factory everything, phone is updated to the latest firmware, most recently done with Samsung Kies as i'm no longer with Verizon and couldn't get the OTA update.

Is an update with Samsung KIES different than one OTA? And can you post a picture of the USB port?
Once you have a Verizon Sim in it, you should get OTA updates just fine. Because I was using a SIM from T-Mobile, i had to use Kies to update it. So they're pretty much the same.
