The 2022 MacBook Pro 13” was released in June 2022, and serves as a follow up to the M1-powered MacBook Pro from May 2022. The MacBook Pro 13” 2022 is powered by an Apple M2 chip, and otherwise, shares the same design and many of the same specs as the MacBook Pro 13” 2020 with the M1 chip.

There are some key differences between the 2020 and 2022 models of the 13” MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro 13” (2020) is available in three distinct models, two of which are Intel powered and one is powered by an Apple M1 chip. The MacBook Pro 13” (2022) is powered by an Apple M2 chip. Aside from the processor differences, these models share quite a bit in common. The specs include a 13.3-inch Retina display, a Touch Bar with Touch ID, stereo speakers, wide stereo sound, support for Dolby Atmos playback, a three-mic array, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a backlit Magic Keyboard with Force Touch trackpad.
