Used Android Tablet Buyer’s Guide Beyond Samsung (2026)

October 12, 2026 • By James Bradley in Tablets
Google, Lenovo, oneplus

Samsung isn’t the only Android tablet maker worth buying from used, but the rest of the market changed a lot in 2026. OnePlus stopped launching products in the US, Google stopped selling the Pixel Tablet, and Lenovo’s tablets now range from models on their last Android version to ones promised seven years of upgrades.

This guide covers the non-Samsung Android tablets you’ll actually find used in the US, with Swappa prices, how long each one gets updates, and what to check before you buy.

Quick Answer

The best non-Samsung Android tablets to buy used in 2026 are the OnePlus Pad 3 (about $638 on Swappa, with security updates promised into 2031), the Google Pixel Tablet (about $367, updated through June 2028), and the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 (about $343) for gaming. OnePlus stopped launching products in the US in July 2026 and Google stopped selling the Pixel Tablet in August, so used is now the main way to get either one. For budget Lenovo tablets, compare against Lenovo’s own sale prices, which are often lower than used. Browse used Android tablets on Swappa.

What Changed in 2026

Three things changed the non-Samsung Android tablet market this year, and each one affects used value:

  • OnePlus left the US. On July 16, 2026, OnePlus said it would stop launching new products in North America and Europe. OnePlus.com US had sold out of its lineup, including the Pad Go 2, by August 3. OnePlus says existing devices will keep getting software updates, security patches, and support.
  • Google discontinued the Pixel Tablet. Google removed it from the Google Store in late August 2026 and has not announced a replacement. Its updates still run through June 2028.
  • Lenovo’s update support split. The Yoga Tab Gen 2 (September 2026) launched with seven Android upgrades and security patches to 2033, while several 2024 and 2025 Lenovo tablets have already received their last Android version.

Why Look Beyond Samsung

Samsung is still the safe default for Android tablets, with long update support, an S Pen in the box on most models, and wide US availability. If you want a Galaxy Tab, start with our Used Samsung Galaxy Tab Buyer’s Guide.

Other brands win in specific lanes. Lenovo’s Legion Tab is a better gaming tablet, the Pixel Tablet has the cleanest software, and a used Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus gets you a 12.7-inch flagship-class screen for about half its launch price. The catch is that software support and US availability vary far more than they do with Samsung or Apple. For the full category overview, see Buying and Selling Used Tablets: The Complete Guide.

Average sale prices come from Swappa’s price pages as of October 7, 2026, and move with storage, condition, and demand. Supply of non-Samsung Android tablets is thin: most models in this table had zero to two live listings that day, so many figures reflect a handful of recent sales. Launch prices are US base prices at release. Update terms come from each manufacturer’s published policy or support pages; where Lenovo’s own pages disagree, we use the later date with “about.” Check current Swappa prices before you buy.

OnePlus Tablets

OnePlus made the most credible Samsung alternative: flagship hardware, long update promises, and lower prices. Its exit from the US doesn’t change the hardware, but it does change how you should shop for one.

OnePlus Pad 3 (2025): Best Flagship Alternative

What it is: A Snapdragon 8 Elite tablet with a 13.2-inch, 3.4K, 144Hz LCD. It launched in the US in June 2025 in one configuration, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, for $699.99, running OxygenOS 15 (Android 15).

Software: OnePlus promised three Android upgrades (through Android 18) and six years of security updates, which runs into 2031. That is the longest promise of any tablet in this guide that you can buy used today.

Used price: About $638 on average for the 256GB model. The only live listing on October 7 was a $950 bundle with the Smart Keyboard, Stylo 2 pen, and folio case.

Verdict: The best hardware and longest support here, but the used discount is small, about $62 off launch, and supply is thin. Subscribe to alerts on the OnePlus Pad 3 page and favor listings that include the keyboard or pen, since OnePlus accessories will get harder to find in the US.

OnePlus Pad 2 (2024) and OnePlus Pad (2023)

The OnePlus Pad 2 launched in July 2024 at $549.99 (12GB/256GB) with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 12.1-inch, 3K, 144Hz screen. It gets three Android upgrades (Android 14 through 17) and security updates to about 2028. It averages about $441 used for the 256GB model. That is roughly $200 less than a Pad 3, which adds a faster chip and about three more years of patches, so the Pad 2 makes sense only at a real discount.

The original OnePlus Pad launched in May 2023 at $479 with a Dimensity 9000 and an 11.61-inch, 144Hz screen. It averages about $337 used for 128GB, which is close to what a Pixel Tablet costs with updates into 2028. As the oldest OnePlus tablet, it is the least likely to see Android 17, so treat it as a short-term buy and pay accordingly.

OnePlus Pad Go 2 (2025): Affordable but Rare Used

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 went on sale in the US in December 2025 for $399.99, sold only as an 8GB/128GB Wi-Fi model. It has a Dimensity 7300 Ultra, a 12.1-inch, 2.8K, 120Hz screen, and OxygenOS 16 (Android 16). The stylus is not in the box; launch promotions offered a free stylus or case instead.

Reports on its update term conflict. Launch coverage cited up to six years of security updates, while some reviews describe fewer Android upgrades, so confirm the current Android version and security patch date on any used unit. Swappa had no listings or sales for it on October 7, so subscribe to alerts on the OnePlus Pad Go 2 page if you want one.

What OnePlus Leaving the US Means for Buyers

  • Updates continue, with a twist. OnePlus says existing devices keep getting software updates and security patches. Android 17 arrives as ColorOS 17, an opt-in update for eligible devices, and owners can roll back to OxygenOS later. The ColorOS 17 rollout started in China on October 8, 2026; OnePlus hasn’t published a US schedule or an official list of eligible tablets.
  • Warranty and repair are less clear. OnePlus says warranty and repair continue, but it hasn’t named a US service provider. Some Swappa sellers include a seller-backed One-Year Limited Warranty, which you can filter for on each product page.
  • No new US models. The OnePlus Pad 4 launched in April 2026 in India only.

Google Pixel Tablet

What it is: Google’s only tablet since 2023, with a Tensor G2 chip and an 11-inch, 2560 x 1600 screen. It launched in June 2023 at $499 with the Charging Speaker Dock, which turns it into a smart home display, and Google later sold the tablet alone for $399.

Status: Google stopped selling the Pixel Tablet in late August 2026. A Pixel Tablet 2 was reportedly canceled in 2024, and Google announced no new tablet at its August 2026 Pixel 11 event.

Software: It runs Android 17 and gets Android updates the day Google releases them. In January 2026, Google quietly extended its OS updates from June 2026 to June 2028, matching its security update end date.

Used price: About $367 on average for 128GB and $407 for 256GB. Five listings were live on October 7, asking $361 to $389, and all five were tablet-only with no dock.

Verdict: The best pick for clean software and quick updates, with about two and a half years of support left. Pay for what that runway is worth, and if you want the smart display features, plan to find the dock separately. Lenovo Android Tablets

Lenovo is the biggest non-Samsung Android tablet brand still launching new models in the US, and its lineup runs from $100 budget slates to $850 gaming tablets. Two things matter more with Lenovo than with any other brand:

  • Update terms vary by model. In general, Lenovo’s 2025 and 2026 midrange tablets get two Android upgrades and four years of security patches, its 2024 and 2025 Legion and Yoga models get three upgrades and four years, and the 2026 Yoga Tab Gen 2 gets seven and seven. Lenovo lists every model’s plan in its Android upgrade matrix.
  • New Lenovo tablets are discounted constantly. Lenovo.com often sells current models well below launch price, sometimes for less than used ones go for. Check the new sale price before you buy used.

Budget: Lenovo Idea Tab (2025) and Tab M11

The Lenovo Idea Tab (2025) has a Dimensity 6300 and an 11-inch, 2.5K, 90Hz screen, and the 8GB version includes a pen. It launched on Android 15, gets two upgrades (through Android 17), and receives security patches to mid-2029. Used, it averages about $202 for 128GB, but Lenovo.com was selling it new for $149.99 to $189.99 on October 7. Buy used only if the price beats Lenovo’s current sale.

The Lenovo Tab M11 launched in April 2024 at $179.99 with a pen included. It has already received its last Android version (Android 15), and security patches end in February 2028. Two listings were live on October 7, and recent sales averaged about $123 to $133. It’s fine for streaming, reading, and kids, not for the long haul. For family picks, see Best Used Tablets for Kids.

Older Tab M8, M9, and M10 models are cheap on Swappa, but most are on their final Android version or past it, so check the upgrade matrix first.

Midrange: Lenovo Idea Tab Pro and Tab Plus

The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro (2025) launched in April 2025 at $349.99 with a Dimensity 8300 and a 12.7-inch, 144Hz screen. Android 16 was its last upgrade, and security patches end in January 2029. It averages about $288 used for 128GB, though the two live listings on October 7 were asking $349 and $359. The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 (March 2026) has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a 13-inch screen, updates through Android 18, and security patches to 2030, and Lenovo.com was selling it with a pen and folio for $399.99. Buy the original only at a real discount.

The Lenovo Tab Plus (June 2024, $289.99) is built for watching video, with eight JBL speakers, a built-in kickstand, a Helio G99, and an 11.5-inch, 2K, 90Hz screen. Android 16 is expected to be its last upgrade, with security patches to July 2028. It had no live listings on Swappa on October 7. Its successor, the Tab Plus Gen 2 (June 2026), has a Dimensity 7400, a 12.1-inch, 120Hz screen, updates through Android 18, and patches to March 2030, and Lenovo.com had it at $269.99 on October 7. That makes a new Gen 2 the better buy unless a used original is far cheaper.

Premium Entertainment: Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus and Yoga Tab

The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus launched in January 2025 at $699.99 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 12.7-inch, 3K, 144Hz screen. Its pen and keyboard were sold separately. Android 17 is its last scheduled upgrade, and security patches run to about early 2029 (Lenovo’s pages list both November 2028 and January 2029). Used, it averages about $360 for 256GB, roughly half its launch price and the biggest discount in this guide. It had no live listings on October 7, so subscribe to alerts on the Yoga Tab Plus page.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab (announced September 2025) puts the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in an 11.1-inch, 3.2K, 144Hz body, with three Android upgrades (through Android 18) and patches to August 2029. Lenovo.com was selling it with the Tab Pen Pro and keyboard for $419.99 on October 7. The Yoga Tab Gen 2 (September 2026) launched on Android 17 with seven Android upgrades and patches to 2033, at $599.99 with pen and keyboard. Neither has a Swappa page yet.

Don’t confuse these with the Yoga Tab 11, a 2021 model that launched on Android 11 and is past the security window Lenovo typically gives its tablets.

Gaming: Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 and Gen 5

The Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 launched in the US in January 2025 at $499.99 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in a compact 8.8-inch, 2560 x 1600 tablet. It gets three Android upgrades, with Android 17 (due in late 2026) as the last, and security patches to about early 2029. It averages about $343 used for 256GB, about 31% off launch, which makes it the best used gaming value here.

The Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5 went on sale in the US in May 2026 at $849.99 (12GB/256GB) with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and an 8.8-inch, 165Hz screen. It launched on Android 16, Android 17 is due in late 2026, and security patches run to March 2030. The one listing on Swappa on October 7 was asking $599 in Good condition, versus $729.99 new at Lenovo.com that day.

Swappa also has pages for the Legion Y700, the China-market version of Lenovo’s gaming tablet. Those units are built for Lenovo’s Chinese software, so Google Play, English-language support, and a US warranty aren’t guaranteed. Stick with the Legion Tab unless you know what you’re getting.

Other Android Tablet Brands

A few other brands sell Android tablets in the US, and a few more show up as imports.

REDMAGIC Astra. A gaming tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Elite and a 9.06-inch, 165Hz OLED screen, from $499 on REDMAGIC’s global store. The Astra 2 (from $699) followed in September 2026. REDMAGIC handles tablet updates case by case rather than on a fixed schedule. REDMAGIC Astra listings on Swappa were asking $566 and up on October 7, more than its new starting price, so only buy used if it’s clearly cheaper than new.

TCL NXTPAPER. TCL sells NXTPAPER tablets in the US with matte, paper-like displays that suit reading and note-taking, priced from about $228 to $330 on sale at TCL.com in early October 2026. TCL doesn’t publish an update policy. Swappa lists models such as the TCL Note A1 NXTPAPER. For more note-taking options, see Best Used Tablets for Students and Note-Taking (2026).

Motorola moto pad. Motorola, which Lenovo owns, sells an 11-inch moto pad in the US. Check Swappa’s Moto Pad page and confirm the exact model’s update status before you buy.

T-Mobile REVVL Tab. Carrier-branded budget tablets like the REVVL Tab 2 are cheap, but cellular models can be carrier-locked or still financed. Run the IMEI first, as explained in IMEI Check: What It Reveals About a Used Phone.

Xiaomi. Xiaomi doesn’t officially sell tablets in the US, so models like the Xiaomi Pad 6 (about $249 used for 128GB), Pad 7 Pro, and Pad 7 Ultra are imports with no US warranty. China-market versions ship without Google Play, so look for the global version (its model number ends in G). Netflix and other apps need Widevine L1 for HD streaming, and an unlocked bootloader, rooting, or a reflashed ROM can drop a tablet to L3, which caps video at standard definition.

Honor and Huawei. Neither sells tablets in the US, and Huawei tablets run HarmonyOS without Google services. They’re situational buys at best for US shoppers.

Amazon Fire. Fire tablets run Fire OS, Amazon’s version of Android without Google Play or standard Google services, so they aren’t interchangeable with the tablets above. Reuters reported in August 2025 that Amazon planned a higher-end Fire tablet running Android for 2026, but Amazon had not released one as of October 7, 2026. If you want normal Android with the Play Store, skip Fire.

What to Check on a Used Non-Samsung Android Tablet

Non-Samsung tablets vary more than Galaxy Tabs or iPads, so these checks matter more here than elsewhere:

  • Software support left. Look up the exact model’s update end date, then confirm the Android version and security patch date in Settings > About tablet (ask the seller, or check on delivery). Pay less for a tablet with under two years of patches left.
  • US model vs. import. OnePlus, Lenovo, Google, TCL, and Motorola tablets sold in the US avoid most compatibility and warranty problems. China-market units, including Legion Y700 and many Xiaomi tablets, may lack Google Play and English support.
  • Google account removed. Android tablets use Factory Reset Protection, which locks a reset device to the previous owner’s Google account. The seller must remove their account before shipping. See Android FRP: How to Avoid a Locked Used Phone, which applies to tablets too.
  • Widevine L1 for HD streaming. If you plan to watch Netflix or Disney+ in HD, confirm the tablet still reports Widevine L1, especially on imports or anything that has been rooted.
  • Accessories. Pens and keyboards are where non-Samsung tablets fall short. Lenovo uses several pen types across models, OnePlus accessories will be harder to buy in the US, and none of the Pixel Tablets listed on October 7 included the dock.
  • Cellular models. Check the IMEI for carrier locks and unpaid balances before you buy.

When the tablet arrives, run through the Checklist After Receiving a Phone or Tablet Bought on Swappa.

Why Buy Used on Swappa

Used tech typically runs 30 to 60% off new, but the gap on non-Samsung Android tablets is uneven. On October 7, it ranged from about 9% on the OnePlus Pad 3 to about 49% on the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus. Because supply is thin, use the subscribe option on each product page to get alerts when new listings go up.

Real people approve Swappa listings before they go live, and the device has to be ready to activate, fully paid off, free of account locks, and free of cracked glass or water damage. That matters more for off-brand Android tablets, where condition and authenticity claims are harder to judge on your own. Some sellers also add a One-Year Limited Warranty, which is useful for OnePlus tablets now that OnePlus has no named US repair provider.

Buyers pay a 3% fee that is already included in the listed price, plus any sales tax. Sellers pay a 3% fee plus payment processing, and listing is free, so Swappa’s fees are lower than other auction-site fees. Payments run through PayPal with buyer and seller protection and dispute resolution, and Stripe is available for select sellers. If a tablet shows up not as advertised, you’re entitled to a refund, and the 3% fee is refunded on a proper PayPal refund. Human support is available 24/7/365, backed by AI fraud prevention.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best non-Samsung Android tablet to buy used?

For most people, the OnePlus Pad 3 is the best non-Samsung Android tablet to buy used, with flagship hardware and security updates promised into 2031 for about $638 on Swappa. The Google Pixel Tablet (about $367) is the pick for clean software, and the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3 (about $343) is the best used gaming tablet.

Is it safe to buy a used OnePlus tablet now that OnePlus has left the US?

Yes, with some caution. OnePlus stopped launching products in the US in July 2026 but says existing devices will keep getting updates, security patches, and support, with Android 17 arriving as an opt-in ColorOS 17 update. It hasn’t named a US repair provider, so favor listings that include accessories or a seller warranty.

Is the Google Pixel Tablet still worth buying used?

Yes, at the right price. Google stopped selling the Pixel Tablet in August 2026, but it runs Android 17 and gets OS and security updates through June 2028. Used 128GB models average about $367 on Swappa, and most listings don’t include the Charging Speaker Dock.

How long do Lenovo tablets get software updates?

It depends on the model. Lenovo’s 2025 and 2026 midrange tablets typically get two Android upgrades and four years of security patches, the 2024 and 2025 Legion and Yoga models get three upgrades and four years, and the 2026 Yoga Tab Gen 2 gets seven years. The Tab M11, Tab Plus, and Idea Tab Pro have already received their last Android version.

Should I buy an imported Xiaomi tablet?

Only if you accept the trade-offs. Xiaomi doesn’t sell tablets in the US, so there’s no US warranty, and China-market versions ship without Google Play. Buy the global version, and confirm it still has Widevine L1, since rooting or a reflashed ROM can limit Netflix and other streaming apps to standard definition.

Are Amazon Fire tablets the same as other Android tablets?

No. Fire tablets run Fire OS, Amazon’s version of Android without Google Play or standard Google services. Amazon was reported to be planning an Android-based Fire tablet for 2026, but it hadn’t released one as of October 2026. If you want the Play Store, buy a Lenovo, OnePlus, or Google tablet instead.

The Bottom Line

The non-Samsung Android tablet market got smaller in 2026. OnePlus left the US and Google retired the Pixel Tablet, but both remain good used buys: the OnePlus Pad 3 for flagship hardware and long support, and the Pixel Tablet for clean software through June 2028. Lenovo is still launching new tablets, and its used Yoga Tab Plus and Legion Tab Gen 3 deliver flagship-class hardware for about half to two-thirds of their launch prices.

Before you buy, check the update end date, make sure it’s a US or global model, and compare against Lenovo’s latest new sale price. Do that, and a non-Samsung Android tablet can be one of the best values in used tech.
