This is absolutely brand new, the Apple warrantee clock will not start until you open the box and start the startup process. You can check the serial number against the Apple warrantee website.

I bought this before doing a proper needs assessment. Got it, then realized that my old MBA already had a 500GB drive with 350GB on it. I didn't return this right away thinking that it would motivate me to finally clean up my old photos and videos. (Ha ha ha ha, I like playing little jokes on myself like that sometimes :-) ) So I ended up buying a 500GB version and need to move this one along to someone who is less of a digital hoarder.

As of this writing this model is $950 at Amazon and Walmart.
