For sale is the Fenix 8 Solar 47mm watch. I purchased it and evaluated it against a Forerunner & my old Apple Watch. Decided I was only going to use Garmin during running exercises and so I couldn't justify keeping the Fenix from a cost stand point. Unfortunately I had lost track of time and missed my return window on the watch (oops!). My loss is your gain I suppose...
Included in the sale:
- Garmin Fenix 8 Solar 47mm in Carbon (black). This is the titanium model w/ sapphire glass (very durable)
- The original silicone band that came with the watch
- Extra Garmin UltraFit 22mm Nylon band ($40 originally purchased just over a month ago)
- Original USB-C charging cable (it did not come with a charging base, only the cable)

“Love the watch—Can you do a quick 20-sec video? Power on, Settings → About (serial #), GPS lock outdoors (MIP map), battery %, solar indicator. Bonus: If you have an iPhone handy, pair it quick and demo music controls (play/pause/skip a song from the watch while Apple Music runs on phone). Thanks!” The last garmin I got wouldn’t pair with my iPhone or control the music. Just want to double check.
Given the Black Friday sales on this new, would you consider $575 down to Columbus? Especially given there’s wear.
Hey David, I am considering a price drop on it (Black Friday pricing is good on this item new right now) but I'm also just considering keeping it. I've found myself only wearing my Forerunner and less so any Apple Watch... I might end up just keeping this around as an alternative watch (without the silly green accents of the Forerunner....)
Michael N, sorry - I missed your comment earlier. Sorry I don't have the watch paired to my phone any longer as I have it boxed up ready to sell. So while it might not cover your request - I can confirm that while I had the watch set up I was successful in both control music on my phone (controlled Apple Music, Spotify, Audible, and Overcast podcast player). I also successfully added Spotify music directly to the watch. The skip track etc worked just fine AS LONG as you have the correct music provider selected on the watch (go to music screen, hold left button to bring up options, select music provider in the music options, one of the "providers" is "control phone"). As long as the correct music provider is selected it worked perfect. I believe it sticks to the last selection you made.
