It seems that it may not get OTA updates although unlocked. I may have to pass. Sorry about that!
As long as someone can sign for the delivery, it's no problem at all. I normally use UPS and can ship out tomorrow morning.
Just turned it on and checked for updates and it is installing the latest security update. The phone is currently not connected to any carrier.
