Trying to pay through Venmo, tried several times. I either get a blank white pop up screen, or a message saying, “Error creating payment. There is a buy lock on this listing. Please try again in a few minutes”

I’m really sorry, but it’s not working, tried several times over the last 15 hours. The only answers I am getting from Swappa is to try again in 10 minutes 🙄. Buying on here is extremely difficult. Hope someone is able to buy it from you soon.

If PayPal is denying a payment, this is usually an issue related to the attempted buyer's PayPal account (sometimes related to their lack of a confirmed shipping address: https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/shipping-address-outside).

While less common overall, the issue could also be related to the seller's PayPal account being limited, so both parties should reach out to PayPal's support team (preferably over the phone) to ensure their accounts are ready to send and receive payments respectively.

From what we can see, other sales seem to be processing without any issues, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with our site. Way to pass the responsibility! It works fine on every other site 🤷🏻. Venmo is not denying the transaction, it says it has a “Buy Lock”. To me, it sounds like the issue is on your end.

So I called my bank to make sure it wasn’t in my end. They said they approved the transaction, but Venmo reported it as fraud because of the multiple attempts at purchase. There were multiple attempts at purchase because of this “Buy Lock”.

Though Swappa was responding to all email and comments in 10-20 minutes before they froze the listing, I emailed them all this info and they never responded back. Further, just tried to purchase this again, and it’s the same “Buy Lock” problem, and it’s telling me to try again. At this point, I am deleting my Swappa account as this is ridiculous. Good luck, sir.
