I have a few questions: how is the battery life? Is the hinge in good shape? Is the depicted charger an original or third-party?

Hey Nathan,

The hinges and battery life are still like new in condition, I only actively used this device for about 8-10 hours total when I would travel out of town.

The only real sign of any use at all is the top cover because it was in a drawer for a few years.

This model of the Nintendo 3DS XL did not ship with an OEM charger, I think I bought the charger on Amazon, it is branded as @Play
