$2000?

AndyO Seller

Brand new is $4,239 <--- Student discount price. $2,000 is abysmally low...

- May 17, 2025 - 07:53 PM

Hi, I was wondering if 3000 would be acceptable?

AndyO Seller

Hi TK. I can do $3,500. Thats a cool $740 discount vs buying brand new.

- May 18, 2025 - 12:16 PM

What is the display type, please?

AndyO Seller
- May 18, 2025 - 01:11 PM

Hi. All recent MacBook Pros use MiniLED tech for their displays. From Apple: “Liquid Retina XDR display
16.2-inch (diagonal) Liquid Retina XDR display;2 3456-by-2234 native resolution at 254 pixels per inch”

- May 18, 2025 - 01:14 PM

Sorry, I mean, does your unit have the NanoTexture or a standard display

AndyO Seller
- May 18, 2025 - 01:31 PM

Ahh ok. Standard.

Price has been updated to $3,500. This is the lowest anyone will find: I dare to say that world wide, this is the lowest price specs-model wise.

Can you post a few additional images or a video showing the following?
1) run Apple Diagnostics > show the results, 2) in Terminal run "profiles status -type enrollment" > show the results, 3) Close up of the screen only (so I can zoom in for dead pixels), 4) System Info > battery cycles and remaining capacity, and 5) the display (True Tone) settings.

Hi Bibi. I have the laptop already reset in a box, ready to ship. I can anyway try do this tonight. I understand that this is an expensive purchase and that you are being cautious. The laptop is fully working: No dead pixels; no enrollments with iCloud or a Company; battery cycles are at 15 like I mentioned in the listing info (100% max capacity). I’ll anyway do my best to run this later tonight after I arrive home from work and send you the video. Check my Swappa rating for peace of mind. Also, Mac has warranty until March 2026. Have a nice rest of your day!

If you've already reset the machine then you have to set it up and then reset again? I understand that's a pain. Maybe send a vid of the boot up going to acct setup and serial #. Do you know if I'll be able to extend the AppleCare (I think it has to be done within 90 days of purchase)?

May 20, 2025 - 11:57 AM

I haven't done this in a while, but current Apple terms for AppleCare transfer actually require the previous owner to release the device from Find Me and then transfer AppleCare to new owner. The original owner needs "AppleCare agreement number, the serial number of the device, and the proof of coverage for the AppleCare plan [...] and proof of purchase." Got that here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/111801

Yes, I have to set it up again. I see that you are new to Swappa. The serial number was provided to the Swappa staff when I createrd the listing. It is automatically and instantly revealed to the buyer when they make the purchase (for security reaons). I'll record the video tonight. You will not be able to extend the Apple Care: This is why my price is so low compared to MSRP.

FindMy is automatically turn off and unlinked during the Reset process. I get what you are saying: In the past, it wasn't automatic. Apple improved this process in the past couple of major macOS releases. Check my ratings; you'll notice that I have sold Macs, iPhones and a Vision Pro, all unlinked from iCloud and without any issues.
