Is the iPhone still eligible for AppleCare?
Yes, it is still eligible for AppleCare at Apple store but it can't be done online since it is more than 60 days after activation.
Below is what I found on the apple site. "Store Visit: You'll need to take your iPhone to an Apple Store for a hardware diagnostic and cosmetic check.
Damaged Device: If the device is found to have damage, you'll need to pay for repairs outside of warranty before AppleCare+ can be added.
Post-Repair: After repairs, you can request to have AppleCare+ added to your iPhone.
Proof of Purchase: Be sure to bring your proof of purchase to the Apple Store."
Your current Apple warranty is good until 12/3/2025. I generally keep iPhones for 2-3 years so getting the AppleCare is something I want to do. If Apple finds the iPhone to be an issue my only recourse would be to exercise the PayPal return policy. I will visit and confirm this with Apple. I'll get back to you soon.
Yeah it is a good idea to check the policy with your local Apple store first. I can provide the receipt from Walmart if needed. The iphone itself does not have any damage or repair so it should have no problem passing the hardware diagnostic and cosmetic check.

I spoke with Apple and the policy is as we discussed. They asked for a purchase receipt. Can you provide the receipt from Walmart.
