I've had success unlocking their phones before the 60 days by contacting Mint directly and telling them you need it unlocked for an upcoming international trip. Alternatively, you can buy a 3 month Mint plan for $45 and it will automatically unlock after 60 days.

Curious if this will work on T-Mobile right away? I have heard that mint and T-Mobile use the same Bands. Is this incorrect?

Per their policy, it will need to be activated on Mint for 60 days. I've had luck getting Mint's support team to unlock several phones right away with a phone call, but it's not a guarantee. I just told them that I had an upcoming international trip and service required an unlocked phone.

Question: Do you have to be connected to that company within those 60 days for it to be unlocked or is there no need?
I'm not certain, but I've had luck getting Mint phones unlocked immediately by saying I'm traveling internationally and need my phone unlocked.
Lower it to 415 and I'll buy it, I don't have any more.
