Hello. My current carrier is T-Mobile. Will this phone accept/use the SIM I am currently using from them?
Hello, yes it will. I've used all the major carrier networks on this device when testing Verizon, Mint Mobile (T-Mobile), and Red Pocket (AT&T).
I am not trying to haggle, just understand: it looks like Amazon has the same model (OnePlus 9 Pro, U.S Version,12GB RAM+256GB Storage, Unlocked) for ~$70 less than this one here. I see that the OS for the Amazon unit is OxygenOS, though. So is there any meaningful difference in these two items, in your opinion?
Good morning and no problem! Not a bad deal on Amazon... thought about getting one from here originally but did not want to chance it due to not seeing the actual device I would be getting. The listing didn't specifically mention the model but found someone mentioned they had received a LE2127 in the Q&A. That is T-Mobile's variant of this phone. Here are some differences that I was able to dig up:
-LE2127 is geared for the T-Mobile network however can be used on other major networks ("carrier unlocked") albeit with some limitation.
-LE2127 seems to only run the OxygenOS (not "bootloader unlocked") so you can't install something like e/OS/, for example.
-LE2127 is US only where as the LE2125 is US/Global capable.
OxygenOS is the stock OnePlus android software that comes on all their phones. I can reinstall this if anyone prefers to use it over the de-Googled e/OS/ software on the one I have for sale now.
Thanks for the additional information and help understanding it all :--) The Global ting is not that interesting to me (since I don't travel much anymore, but the de-Googled OS is. Let me mull on it for a day or two...thanks again.
Follow-up question, please: I noticed recently that 2 of my banking apps look at the version of Android to decide whether they will open, or even install. This is mostly about a lower/older version of Android O/S. But since it is clear the apps are checking, what happens if they detect an unexpected or unusual O/S, like e/OS?
No problem, banking apps used to be problematic but the eOS folks put in a fix for that say 2 years ago now.
The kids, wife, and I use the US Bank app.
