Well noted, I've now been able to go to Paypal but when completing the purchase it states that both my cards cannot be used for this specific purchase despite them being funded. What might be the issue?

Shane check the configuration of your papal account

If PayPal is denying a payment, this is usually an issue related to the attempted buyer's PayPal account (sometimes related to their lack of a confirmed shipping address: https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/shipping-address-outside).

While less common overall, the issue could also be related to the seller's PayPal account being limited, so both parties should reach out to PayPal's support team (preferably over the phone) to ensure their accounts are ready to send and receive payments respectively.
