Cicly battery?

Can you do around $950?

Apr 23, 2024 - 04:13 PM

Did you buy it yourself, or work sent it to you? Is it enrolled in MDM? Thanks.

@Jared - I purchased it from my work as part of my severance agreement, in which they made sure I factory reset (and sent confirmation) in order to remove all proprietary IP from the machine. I assume there's no way MDM could remain installed through that?

@Jared - machine was factory sealed, and has since been factory reset (again) to prepare it for this listing. Let me know if there's any other info I can provide!

Apr 23, 2024 - 10:59 PM

@John H. Thanks. Unfortunately I don't know enough but my impression in that is not enough to guarantee no MDM. This reddit thread has some info and ways to test, but even then it does not seem 100% conclusive. If you are still in contact, you could also ask IT at work?

That makes total sense. I didn't hit any lockout/activation steps (outside of the apple one) when I was setting it up but let me reach out to IT and gather some reassurance.

Thank you @John H. That is good news and also reassuring.

I would say running those terminal commands from the reddit post above would be helpful for additional reassurance, but this would require you to re-sign in and then rewipe.

I also wouldn’t mind if you still reached out IT and got them to clarify that everything is removed, that the mac is a personal / retail device now, and perhaps any ways to test or verify this.

Both a bit of work unfortunately, but I don’t think I am quite there yet. Perhaps a less picky buyer will come around?

Up to you and thanks again.

Would you accept an offer of $1000?

John H. Seller
- Apr 24, 2024 - 03:35 PM

@Marco M - Looks like 24 cycles with 90% health (normal) if that is what you're asking about (photo uploaded at the end of the album)

@Jared - I uploaded a photo and video of the command prompt running as pointed out by the reddit thread, it seems that no response is good news! I've also reached out to IT to get some more confirmation.

I'm not sure if you saw the comment before it was removed but it was a copy of my bill of sale contract with language requiring me to remove any MDM. Probably better that I don't share it again publicly but lmk if it would help reassure. Thanks!

Thanks you. That battery level is below my limit so I am out, but thanks for all your help and best of luck

Are you willing to negotiate at all John?

John H. Seller
- Apr 25, 2024 - 03:17 PM

Definitely willing to entertain offers - honestly just not familiar with how the platform handles them...looks like the seller just adjusts the price once an offer price is agreed upon and the buyer just has to be the first to purchase at the new price?

Apr 25, 2024 - 03:46 PM

Yeah, according to this https://swappa.com/faq/answer/how-to-accept-an-offer-lower-price you just lower the price and the first person that click BUY will get it. I am ready to buy at $1000 :)

I'm not quite sure either as its my first time as well. Maybe a staff member can clarify?

Would you take $900 for this?

@Peter - dropped price, good luck!
