You firm on price?

- Nov 06, 2023 - 08:41 PM

Yes, the machine is only about 9 months old, and in wonderful shape. I paid around $3900 OTD with tax. This is heavily discounted for what you're getting. Most machines on here only have 32GB RAM.

- Nov 06, 2023 - 09:51 PM

Make sense! No worries. I currently have a 2018 15 i9 with 32GB of ram and rarely find things that put a dent in it haha. I’ll look around a bit but I may still consider this one.

- Nov 06, 2023 - 10:11 PM

I had the exact same machine, with the 9th gen 6-core i9, and the Vega 20 4GB card. This will have leaps and bounds better battery life, among other things.

- Nov 06, 2023 - 10:17 PM

Correction, I had the 8th gen, 6-core. The 9th gen featured an 8-core in early/mid 2019.

- Nov 07, 2023 - 11:42 AM

Yeah I thought 2018 was gen 8 but it's near impossible to find that information on the mac itself lol I've only got the 560x GPU so thats good to hear. If I buy will you be able to submit everything Apple needs to transfer the AppleCare to me?

- Nov 07, 2023 - 12:00 PM

Once I have your first, last name, address, email, phone - I will call Apple and xfer the AppleCare to you.

However, there is a catch. They cannot unlink the annual subscription from my AppleID and link it to yours. I have zero issue paying the $106 (tax) in Feb and letting it renew, as long as you can reimburse me somehow.

I offered this option to the buyer of my old M1 Max as well.

- Nov 07, 2023 - 01:08 PM

Oof, okay, that may be a deal breaker for me. I didn't realize they didn't allow you to renew an annual plan with a new AppleID. I will think on it though, thanks for the communication.

- Nov 07, 2023 - 01:25 PM

No worries. As long as you don’t mind paying, I will leave the subscription active. Otherwise you need to find a machine where someone bought the 3 year one-and-done plan. They prepay $280 upfront and when it ends, it ends. The $99/annual is perpetual.

- Nov 08, 2023 - 09:00 AM

Josh, I would be willing to eat the first renewal of AppleCare in February. Then, you have until 2025 to decide what you want to do (keep/cancel).

Hey interested! Could you share a screenshot from DriveDx? There is a screen that shows total data written and other ssd health info.

- Nov 09, 2023 - 08:24 PM

Done, posted! Very little usage on this drive for read/write/power on hours.

Nov 11, 2023 - 08:12 PM

Hi, I'm interested but not sure how the applecare would work - you can't transfer it because it's a subscription, so how could I get service and coverage?

- Nov 11, 2023 - 08:57 PM

I can have Apple transfer the agreement to you, but the actual recurring subscription would stay linked to my AppleID. Apple refuses to unlink or transfer the actual subscription. While it is active - before Feb 9th 2024 - you can go to the Apple Store and have repairs completed. You will be covered.

If you'd like to figure out a creative way to reimburse me, I can leave the subscription active and it will renew for $106.34 on Feb 9th 2024 for an additional year (and it can also be renewed in Feb 2025, same scenario). In that scenario, you would remain covered after Feb 9th 2024.
