Hi, could you confirm that it shows “no sim restrictions” under settings-general-about under “Carrier Lock”? Thanks!
I can confirm it says “no so restrictions”. Phone was used for dual sim (1 overseas line) for a bit so I can 100% say it works
The screen is third party ?
The screen is genuine. I did swap it from another working iPhone 12 however. This was originally my mother’s but she had deep scratches in the original screen from her earrings. I have a test unit for work that I swapped the displays on. Both genuine but that’s why that error shows.
Thanks Cory, has your phone been repaired or refurbished in any way?
Who did the screen swap job?
I did it myself. I am a former Apple employee. I worked in a corporate Apple Store as a genius bar tech for a few years.
So the message in the settings is because even though it's an original Apple screen, it's not the one that came with the phone and therefore only Apple's special machines can reprogram it to "sync" between new display and the phone or something ?
Even though the screen is Apple genuine the screen was previously “activated” and used another iPhone so the servers give it this error. The only way to swap genuine displays and not get this error would be to transplant the “IC” chip from each. Which requires unsoldering and resoldering a microchip on the displays board to trick the iPhone main motherboard. Or by paying the $279 for a new part from their self service repair portal that hasn’t been “activated” and can be calibrated with Apple Configurator
This error used to disappear after a few weeks. I am not sure if that is still the case with iOS 16 though.
What's the battery health?
NVM it shows 89%
Is price flexible ?
Cory, does True Tone work on this phone?
