@ David Because it needs to be activated and my school Wi-Fi does not support it I can not check the battery life. However, it still holds charge extremely well. I could actively code on it for 6-8 hours reliably

And the scratches don’t affect the screen at all, they are no that deep. It is purely an outside cosmetic scratch

just googled and found something you can do even though you've reformatted the mac for sale:

Do a command-r boot to recovery then in the Utilities menu up top select Terminal.

Then enter the command below to get the battery info.

It starts right up at the Setup screen, I just need to reinstall macOS

And what you found does not work on Google does not work, there is not way for me to check the battery life without setting up the computer
