Hey, is this still under warranty?

Hey there, I believe it should be under the one year as I purchased it in June of last year from Best Buy.

I’ve included screenshots as I do have apple care which extends the coverage. I believe you can transfer apple care but we’d have to ask Apple Support

I am actually calling Apple and Best Buy currently, as the Apple Care Coverage is part of my BestBuy Total Tech Coverage. So it’s part of an annual membership that I have and the Apple Support representative said that if Best Buy can renew the date of purchase of the device, then you would be able to purchase apple care for yourself within 60 days. I’m trying to see if that works or what other options they have.

I just got off the phone with them, and it seems like the coverage is registered under Best Buy and the device itself, so transferring it isn’t an issue- it’s maintaining it.
So my concern was if I canceled my TotalTech membership, would you be given an options to renew coverage yourself. Unfortunately the department that answers that question isn’t open today, so I’ll have to call tomorrow.

Hey there! So got an update. Full disclosure, I work for Apple Computers but as I work in sales- the support side of things wasn’t my area of expertise so I did some digging.

With the original purchase date of my MacBook Pro being July 24th of 2022, Apple will allow a device that is under one year old to be brought to an Apple Store and have diagnostic tests ran on it, to allow a customer to purchase an Apple Care plan.

Do you live anywhere near an Apple Store?
