I was able to do a serial number lookup on this device. It shows a purchase date of April 2022. One year ago. It apparently has not been activated yet according to Apple. Is this ok?

Apple's basic warranty covers from the date of purchase, so the base warranty has expired. Apple Care+ can only be purchased within 60 days of purchase. Not sure this device is actually new.

123SportsPhotos, Swappa requirements for New only require the device is still factory sealed in the OEM box, unless a refurbished or warranty replacement.

Well regardless, the purchase date was April 2022, so the device is not qualified for either the base warranty nor Apple Care+.

Also, how does Swappa verify a product is “factory sealed?” Just by a photo? You can re-shrink wrap a box so it looks new.

123SportsPhotos, If you’ve actually seen what an unopened factory sealed iPad box looks like in person, You can see that there is still a pull-tag, which i’ve never seen replicated. It was purchased off of apple in 2021, And never opened out of the factory sealing, Which would explain the reason for AppleCare warranty expiring .
