Top specification MBP 2018 13inch. I7, 16 GB ram, 512 GB storage. Spouse kept in fantastic shape, upgraded to M2. E,S,C keys slightly worn, no other issues. Cycle count on battery is 310 of 1,000. Full charge capacity is 4,205 of 5,800. No butterfly key issue occurred for us, keyboard is original.

what about thermal throttling?
Sorry don't know much about thermal throttling. It's a good laptop for the money. I would maybe look at youtube videos on the topic. It does get warmer than M1 macs but doesn't throttle to my knowledge.
