Could you explain Sprint only and no android lock?
Sorry, meant no google lock.
But like all carrier phones that are purchased directly from them, they are locked to their networks only. Unless you have some sort unlocking software.
Thanks. I'm pretty sure that the law states that after a phone, if purchased on contract, is paid off, carrier must unlock if requested. I've never used sprint though. Can you request phone be unlocked? Sometimes, it is almost impossible for new owner to request unlock through carrier, or at least very difficult. Anyways, I'm interested but only if unlocked.
Thanks
Hi,
2 different things. This phone is operational for any Sprint customer to use on their network. Because it is an Android phone and bought directly from Sprint, it only has the frequency bands to use on Sprint's network.
If you are not going to use this phone on Sprint's network, you need to find an "carrier" unlocked phone. These phones were either bought directly from the manufacturer or retailer...or unlocked vs a 3rd party software.
I understand. Samsung doesn't make phones just for sprint, they are the same phones they make for Verizon because they both use CDMA networks. GSM phones will not work on CDMA networks but CDMA phones like Verizon and Sprint have GSM radios in them and will work on GSM networks. My understanding...
I've been in the wireless business for 30 years. Yes on the same cdma networks, but Sprint's and Verizon's networks work on different frequencies. That's the issue. Verizon's low 700 band is not in a Sprint android phone and Sprint's mid 2.5 is not in a Verizon android phone. The GSM bands in android cdma will only work internationally.
If you want to buy it and test it for yourself, I'm not going to stop you.
Apple products since the 6s, you don't have this issue. They have all the necessary frequency bands and will work on any carrier.
Hello,
Is the LVBP47624 the IMEI or ESN? It was invalid when I plugged it in.
Hi,
The IMEI is clean, nothing wrong with the phone.
