hello! wondering if you would offer selling the computer without the mouse and keyboard? how much would the price decrease if so? thank you!

Kira, I treat them as freebies... don't think they are worth much on their own, but I'm willing to take $25 off if you are serious about buying.

Hello Ken, the pictures of the screen with the anti-glare appear distorted. Is the screen itself unblemished? Also want to make sure Swappa or yourself don't accept returns? Thank you for your time.

Hey Dennis, see the "Damage Description" section - the anti-reflective coating has worn off, as can be seen in the pictures. There's no return/refund. I am describing the condition as accurately as possible here - what you see is what you'll get.

Any chance the screen can be repaired?

Sean, I'm assuming you are asking whether the screen can be repaired by Apple for free (coz yes of course one can pay for the replacement). I do not know, this is what's been said - https://www.macrumors.com/2019/12/20/macbook-pro-anti-reflective-repair-program/, and this machine would have fallen out of the 4-year window policy, but others have gotten theirs replaced by Apple even if the machine was older than 4 years. I've gotten my 2015 replaced before for free mid last year.

Hi Ken! Do you think this model can run Photoshop?

Ken Y. Seller
- Aug 09, 2020 - 06:07 PM

Hi Grace, yeah this is a developer grade machine, so I'm pretty certain it can handle Photoshop with ease. This is as good as they come for a 13" Macbook. Only thing that's better would be the MBP15 with dedicated graphics chip.

Hi Ken, I see you say the AR coating damage doesn't affect functionality; can you say to what extent one can "tell" the damage is there, when the screen is on? Is it visible but not a big nuisance, or something that you can really only see at all when there's no backlight? Does the lack of it cause any more/less glare (I imagine it's originally there for SOME reason) Pictures of lit up displays are always tough to go by. Thanks!

Hey Brian, the answer to your question really depends on the lighting condition and the angle at which one is looking at the screen. I'm going to say more conservatively that "it's visible but not a big nuisance" so you or any other potential buyer won't have the wrong expectation. I think the lack of the AR coating would definitely make it more glare-y, but the unevenness of it might be worse, that's why some owners decided to strip the AR coating completely once the delamination started.
