Does it come with remote control and power cord?
Yes, everything that comes with the original packaging is included. Please note that the "remote control" is just the normal TV remote, not the gaming controller.

Can I plug in an external hard drive with this model?
I have only connected a flash drive before (which worked), but it should be able to take external hard drive no problem. You can find forums online where people are connecting an external HDD to their 2017 Shield TV.
