Brandon, Help me understand “Unlocked once for 60 days.” If I want it unlocked I have 60 days to do it and then a window of opportunity is closed for good. Also, once a phone is unlocked it remains unlocked, right? Thanks

Hi Jim,
When I went online to have the phone unlocked through AT&T, the following message came up:
"Your unlock request was denied because your service hasn't been active for at least 60 days" So I called AT&T, and because the phone has not been active on AT&T (Cricket doesn't count) they cannot unlock it. Once the phone has has service via AT&T for 60 days (or more), the phone can be unlocked and will stay unlocked.

Hope that helps.

Branden,
It does help, thanks.
Your phone is something I'm interested in, but not being already unlocked is a draw back for me.

Thanks

If you have ATT it can be unlocked after 60 days, but there is no way for me to remedy that as I’m on cricket. I’ve already lowered the price to compensate for this, what’s why it’s the lowest priced mint XR on swapppa, or at least it was a couple hours ago.

Thanks!

My understanding is that you must unlock the phone on Cricket before it can be used on other carriers, and that this is only possible after six months: https://www.cricketwireless.com/support/account-management/device-unlock.html

Have you done this?

Jared,

If the phone was originally bought through Cricket that would be correct, but it was purchased through AT&T then transferred to Cricket. See responses above, the phone is eligible for unlock once it has been on AT&T for 60 days, of which Cricket apparently doesn't count.

All,

I just went back on to AT&T to request an unlock so that I could show you the print out of the 60 day. In doing so AT&T has unlocked the phone, see screen shot.
