I am an educator buying for an educational institution. I can purchase this computer configured like your for $2949 without tax. If I then want to add AppleCare+, it's $199. However, I really don't need 2 TB. 1TB is more than enough. That brings the machine cost to $2549. If your price were near that with tax, then I would consider it.
