Regular AppleCare through October 2020; ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE APPLECARE+ through ~Dec 9,2019
Battery Cycle Count 13
This model was the higher tier $2799 model of the MacBook Pro 15" in 2019 purchased ~ Oct 10, 2019:
Space Gray
2.3 GHz 8-Core i9 Processor
16GB RAM
Radeon Pro 560X
512GB SSD
Purchased just a month ago, barely used. Unfortunately, past the return period with Apple and finding myself using my iPad Pro and smaller MacBook 12 as a combo versus this powerhouse of a machine, and a recent iMac purchase.
- The Macbook has had a 3M vinyl skin in silver to protect the body since I purchased it (you may notice it in the photos). The computer itself is space gray. I removed it this morning (11/15) to prepare the machine to sell, but I will include a space gray vinyl skin version if you want to protect it and match its official color.
- Comes with original box, packaging, charger and power cable

Hi, I can make 1900$ immediately payment.
Sorry friend, I paid a little over $3000 for this. $1900 is a bit low.
to lower the price, have you considered cancelling the applecare for a refund? with this model now discontinued it is hard to pay top dollar now that the 16" is available.
Hey Daniel, I was just thinking that. I guess I was playing with the idea that if it’s included people may be more likely to purchase it. But you’re right. The only concern I have is that if I remove it, if Apple would allow someone else to purchase Apple care for it, should they want it later.
Thanks. indeed I think squaretrade or other warranties are not available for swappa, but if you ask me, the closer you make your price to 2k the most likely you can sell it. apple basically abandoned this model and its keyboard with today's announcement, and now that even the entry level has 512GB for the same 2399. it is very hard for someone to commit to a now defunct model. also some people manage to add the laptops to their home/personal property insurance so they can guaranteed it if they want.
also, if you have the stomach and time for it, you can try pleading to an applestore manager if they give you credit for the 16" model instead of return. I suspect a lot of recent 15" buyers will try that, so you might want to add fast.
did try to talk to apple today; didn't budge. I was able to cancel the apple care plan and adjusted the price accordingly.
AppleCare+ team did say that after about 72 hours their system should update and show that the laptop is eligible for AppleCare+ purchase since its still within 60 days of purchase til about Dec 10, 2019 - so I guess that's a good thing.
will you sell it for the $1980 that you are asking with the AppleCare +?
Hi Ken, I removed the AppleCare+ warranty yesterday in order to recoup some money. But I just uploaded a photo of the current warranty. It is the standard 1 year apple manufacturer's warranty, and the product says it is eligible to purchase AppleCare+ directly with Apple through December 9, 2019. If you want to make me an offer given the current state of the warranty and the product, please let me know.
If you're not including the applecare + I think that will cost me about $379. That brings me to the price of the new 16 inch model. I'll buy it for $1900 if that works for you. I'll do an immediate payment.
Hey Ken, I get what you’re saying about approaching the 16in price but just a month ago I paid 2799 plus 379 for Apple care okay taxes. Yikes. Even this computer brand new is 2599 at Best Buy for example. So making the comparison to the 16 is not the base 2399 since this computer has the 8 core processor of the higher end.
I had originally listed it for $2400 and then for a refund for the Apple care which is how I brought it down to 1980. For now I’m gonna keep it where it’s at with a small deduction. After fees and things I’m already losing over $1000.
what would be your bottom line number to sell this. you asked me to make an offer.so I did. I get it, you're taking a beating. I have a 2015 15 inch i7 with 16 gb ram. Do you know if yours will be a big improvement? I don't do video editing or music creation.
I’m ready to buy please answer my questions though
Hi, sorry I had not had the opportunity to check my phone. The current listed price is the lowest I’m gonna be able to go at this moment. It’s already significantly cheaper than any of the other models being sold on the site.
In terms of the speed, the 2015 MacBook pros i7 are four cores and this is an eight core i9 processor which would theoretically be significantly faster; although I would check the geekbench scores I’d you’re interested in that.
Here’s what I found: 2015 model i7 (you may want to adjust the search for your specific model)
https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/596393
And the 2019 core i9 2.3ghz 8-core model:
https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/595667
I have the 2017 model not the 2015. I will check the scores though and get back to you this morning
I’m in philadelphia. Any chance you can overnight it to me instead of lowering the price?
What’s your zip code?
19127
Thank you, yes. I could ship it today and it would be through Fedex or UPS for Saturday delivery.
Can you do ups as they know where my house is. Any idea if I’ll see much of a difference from my 2017 i7 model and this one?
Hey Ken, yes I can do UPS. I am no expert with the processors since I am unsure of the workloads and all that stuff that you use. I went to GeekBench and found the multicore scores for the different machines. I just uploaded the photo on here - I put mine in red, the 2017 models are highlighted in green; there's three models so it depends which i7 you have there's a 2.8GHz, 2.9GHz, and a 3.1GHz. With any of them you're seeing almost double the performance; again, this is your call.
Ok. Let's do it. I can still sell mine since it also has applecar + until 2021 and get some good money for it. You'll ship UPS for tomorrow? Can you ship with no signature? Nobody will steal it when they deliver and this way I'll be home. Unless you can ship for a morning delivery and I will then be home.
now I we do? don't know. There is one selling the same as yours for $2099 and comes with applecare+. That's a large saving over having to pay $1965 + $379. I believe its the exact same specs as yours. What can
I want to buy yours since you have been very easy to deal with but there are two which will cost me less. One is $1900 but isn't eligible for applecare + so I don't want that one, but the other one comes with applecare+ and is $2100 which is $200 less expensive than yours and having to buy applecare +. Can you come down so that it's apples to apples?
The least I can do is going to be $1900 total; which is 1865 and 35 for the swappa fees; and that’s because I’m still gonna have to pay the high overnight shipping fee and the PayPal fees. You do still have about a month to buy the AppleCare if you want it from Apple so you can delay that part of the money for a couple weeks. But at the end of the day it’s your call, my friend; do what you feel is best for you.
Price updated to $1895. That is gonna have to be the lowest price.
I absolutely get it but the other one is now at $2000. So there is a $279 difference. The only difference is the overnight shipping
I'm sorry it didn't work out, but you will sell it easily. The other one was too good to pass up. It had the same specs and applecare+ until Sept 2022 for $2000.
The 2000 machine with the same specs as mine has the same one year Apple care as this one that one expires July 2020; mine expires oct 2020.
The 2199 product has Apple care plus though oct 2022. Which minus 379 is 1820.
The overnight shipping is almost $100 for me so theoretically I’d say mine at 1895 is still fairly priced in comparison.
Also not sure if you have any university affiliation but Apple care plus for MacBook Pro 15 with education pricing (calling Apple directly is 339.
Hey Ken, no problem!
It says September 12, 2022.
Very nice, Ken. Glad you found a deal that worked for you. Enjoy the new mac!
Looks like a great Mac...just wondering, why are you selling it so recently after purchase? If you could do 1800 I could buy today
Hey Benjamin, I had an old little 12inch Mac and my IPad Pro that I was using, but recently started doing a lot more heavy work with data analysis and rendering for work (and personal) stuff; I got the MacBook because I felt i needed a more powerful machine. I quickly realized that i was only using it on my desk exclusively and using my small Mac/iPad Pro to lug around versus this one. I ended up purchasing an iMac instead but was past the return period so I wasn’t able to return it officially. Then the new 16” Macs were announced and that really sucked because my ability to sell it at a price closer to what it was purchased at kinda plummeted. My loss - can’t blame tech changes. So honestly, at this point, I’m just trying to recoup some money to help pay off some of the new iMac I got. Would you be okay with 1835? This would be 1800 plus the 35 fee swappa charges for the sale? It’s all packaged up and ready to go; I could take it to FedEx today to ship it (or UPS if you prefer).
That’s an amazing deal.
Give me an hour...I will get back to you! Thanks so much!
Sure thing just let me know
