Perfect Starter "L" lens: 24-105mm f/4 L
As above - 24--105mm f/4 with flawless glass. This was my first L series lens, and while I love it, it was the gateway drug to my current setup. Has always been meticulously maintained with a UV filter on and never used in adverse conditions. Like any Mk I, it does have some lens creep and will come with a band that prevents it.
