Hello, my daughter is thinking of buying a MacBook pro. I see your computer has 8 gb ram. How have you found that? Is that lacking or enough? She isn't a power user, but will be doing iPhoto, iMovie and the normal other things like Word, email, etc. She does take a lot of pictures and needs the 512 SSD, but I'm questioning whether the 8GB is enough? I went online and it seems for what she is doing it will be but wondering what your thoughts are on it?

You can always find specifications in the top left corner where the apple logo is. 8GB of ram is definitely enough for the type of activites your daughter will be doing. Unless she will be editing rendering many 4K videos and playing high intensity games the 16GB of ram is not necessary and has been proven to show little difference in performance and speed. I personally have a 2015 Macbook Pro 128GB SSD 8GB ram and as a computer science major I run many programs on a daily basis and use trading software as well which requires high intensity equipment because of the real time market fluctuations and I've never had a problem! 8GB should be more than enough!
