You saying this is sprint only makes me believe it is still being financed as all iPads are unlocked by default and can't even be locked by a carrier. They can be blacklisted later or usually pretty quickly after if the account hasn't been paid and someone puts a different carrier's sim in the unpaid device. Devices listed on swappa have to be paid in full without installment plans. Guaranteed clean esn is a nice thing to say but if device isn't pif it will for sure be blacklisted by sprint in the coming months. Can you clarify?
