The battery was not replaced by Apple, however a new seal has been put in. Probably not as good as factory, but I kinda doubt that would be true even if it was done at an Apple store.

Louis, the "Verizon" was always a guess, all I really knew is that it would accept any sim card. Because you asked, just paid for a IMEI check and it says
Carrier: Unlock SIMLock Status: Unlocked
I believe this means it's actually factory unlocked.
